Restorative Justice

What is Restorative Practice?

Restorative practices are a process by which an individual acknowledges wrongdoing, takes steps to repair harm and is welcomed back into the school community. This fosters a culture that lifts communication and values relationships.

Restorative Circles

Students participate in restorative practices, community building, and problem solving Wildcat Circles to develop healthy relationships, safety, empathy, a voice, ownership and learning. Which supports well-being and student achievement from the Cerritos students.

Wildcat Circles

Restorative Justice Wildcat Circles provide an opportunity for students who are continuously struggling to come together to address the Wildcat Way (School-Wide Expectations) and how to become accountable and repair their non-compliant behavior. These circles will take place for 5 weeks, every other Tuesday for 20 minutes during their lunchtime.

As the student works toward improving his/her goals, he/she will earn praise and acknowledgment for making good choices. Our goal is for your child to be able to follow and meet the Cerritos School-Wide Expectations, we look forward to celebrating this accomplishment with you and your child!
